Thanks for writing. We pushed back the winners announcement by one week, so that's why the countdown changed to "7 days." Here is a link to the email we sent out yesterday announcing this change: http://ford.challengepost.com/updates/1095.
"Hello! Thanks so much for your participation in the Ford Personalized Fuel-Efficiency App Challenge! You've certainly given our judges a tough job. With that in mind, we wanted to let you know that we will be pushing the winners announcement back to next week. Please stay tuned for the specific date to be posted on the challenge site. Thanks, again, for your great enthusiasm, submissions, and patience. Cheers! The ChallengePost Team"
What's going on with the Ideas Challenge? Winners for that were supposed to be announced on September 10. Participants in that challenge haven't even been given the courtesy of a delay notice.
Will those winners also be announced on September 24 (which, at the rate things are going, appears to be code for "October 1")?
Thanks for writing. You're right, we should have sent an email update to the Ideas Challenge participants as well. I'm really sorry about that.
The winners for the Ford Personalized Fuel-Efficiency Ideas Challenge will also be announced on September 24. I've just updated the timeline on the Ideas site and also sent out an email update.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and for your patience.
Wanted to send a quick note on behalf of the participants to thank you for your work on this Challenge. Having been involved with judging competitions before I am aware of the work involved - and all the work in the background that we don't see. While we're all excited to hear the results (especially some folks on this thread!) I wanted to take this chance to send a short note of appreciation.
I'm trying to stay positive here, but we were asked to stick to hard deadlines. I think many of us stayed up late nights finishing the product so it could be done in time.
This constant delay feels disrespectful to the developers time. And this makes me extremely hesitant to use ChallangePost in the future.
I certainly understand your frustration and we at ChallengePost are very sorry to have to delay the winners announcement again. We do value developers' time and appreciate all the hard work that you put into your apps — by no means is the delayed announcement a statement of ingratitude. On the contrary, we're extremely grateful for all your work, and both our team and Ford look forward to announcing the winners in a few weeks.
I think what we actually want to hear are what was the cause of these delays and what is being done to solve this. I certainly appreciate taking the time to judge submissions thoroughly, but at the same time, at least give us an explanation why this is happening and not pushing back indefinitely. In my view this is just common courtesy and I don't think neither Ford nor Challengepost would view what is currently happening on this challenge to be acceptable.
I'll be emailing you in a few days with some paperwork to fill out. If you have any specific questions, feel free to email me at support@challengepost.com.

Hi,
why do you change again the "days until winners announced" to 6 days?
I think everyone was waiting very anxiously for the results today
Best,
Jose

Now it's been pushed back another 23 days? Something tells me they haven't even started.
